Athena Computer Power Corp. is pleased to announce the 80PLUS bronze certification for their APOLLO (SFX Form Factor) and HERCULES (PS3 Form Factor) power supply series for replacement, upgrade, and IPC systems from the 350-400Watt power range.
Athena Computer Power Corp. has pushed forward and made rapid progress in their True Green Power policy. Their True Green Power standard is set to manufacturing and selling efficient power supplies in accordance with Ecos Plug and Load Solutions 80PLUS certification. In 2011 alone Athena Computer Power has certified over 20 power supply products in different wattage levels currently available in the market.
A power supply with baseline 80PLUS certification is required to operate at an average of 80% efficiency. The Bronze level of 80 PLUS certification indicates that the power supply operates at an average of 82% efficiency at 20% and 100% load, and 85% efficiency at 50% load.
The HERCULES and APOLLO series was initially released as upgrades and replacements to desktop computers such as E-machines, HP, IBM, Compaq, and Gateway PCs. Athena Computer Power Corp. is now shifting its focus for both series and now markets both the HERCULES and APOLLO as OEM/ODM sales products as well as for industry users in the Telecom market.
The APOLLO and HERCULES series 350-400 Watt power supply will support the most current ATX motherboards V2.2 and lower. Its PCI-E 6-pin connector supports an additional VGA card. This PSU is ideal for custom-built PCs, mini-servers and HTPCs.
With a thermal fan speed control it will detect the amount of heat generated by the computer and spin accordingly. Using this controller to detect the heat levels of the PSU it will adjust the fan speed accordingly, with this feature built in, worrying about the heat level of a PSU becomes almost non-existent.
